Setting a project poster with Frame.io

The project list shows a poster for each project, so you can pick out the one you’re looking for at a glance. In Frame.io projects you set it yourself, by uploading an image to the project in Frame.io.

Setting the poster

In Frame.io, in the project’s top-level folder:

1. Create a folder named .oropod
2. Upload your image to that folder, naming it poster.jpg

Both names have to match exactly, in lower case. An image named Poster.jpg or poster.png, or placed anywhere else in the project, has no effect.

The poster appears in Oropod on the next sync, usually within a couple of minutes.

Choosing an image

• Use a JPEG, since the name has to end in .jpg
• Posters are shown in portrait, in the proportions of a film poster (2:3). Images of other shapes are cropped from the centre to fit.

Changing or removing the poster

Upload the new image to the same folder, also named poster.jpg. Frame.io keeps it as a new version of the existing file, and Oropod always uses the newest version.

To remove the poster, delete poster.jpg. The project falls back to a plain placeholder, since Oropod never picks a project poster automatically.

Tips

• Oropod hides the .oropod folder everywhere else: its contents are never shown as clips or when browsing the source’s files
• Loading the poster needs the same “Edit & Share” access to the project as the clips do. With view-only access, Oropod shows the placeholder instead. See Frame.io troubleshooting.
• The frames shown behind days, scenes and shots are something different, and are picked automatically. See Poster frames.
