Distributing dailies

Clip and metadata flow with Oropod
Clip and metadata flow with Oropod

The Oropod app itself runs on iPad, Mac or iPhone, but gets clips and metadata from cloud or local sources. This page helps you get started with distributing dailies, but the same principles apply to other production stages as well.

Providing clips and metadata via the cloud

  • We recommend organising your clips and metadata on a Mac, e.g. in folders by shooting day
  • When you are ready to distribute new clips, upload them (and their metadata) either to Frame.io or Oropod Storage
  • The most important metadata are scene numbers, shooting day, take (and shot) number, as well as tags (especially circled), since they let your team find clips in seconds. Here’s how to do it:

Navigating and viewing clips in Oropod

  • After you upload new clips, authorised team members will see them within a couple of minutes
  • They can also refresh manually by syncing manually
  • How to navigate dailies shows your team how to find and play the clips once they arrive
