Importing metadata

Oropod imports metadata automatically while it syncs your project’s sources. Everything it finds is merged per clip: day number, date, scenes, shot, take, camera, circled status and tags.

Report files

Oropod scans your project’s storage for report files and imports any format it supports. Just upload them together with the clips, in any folder:

Which formats are enabled is configured per project.

Replacing a report

Oropod tracks each report by its name and the folder it sits in, so a corrected report replaces the original as long as it keeps both.

  • Replacing a report discards everything the old one said, leaving only the new values
  • Uploading a correction under a different name leaves both reports in place, and Oropod merges them rather than choosing between them, so a clip can end up with two scene numbers, and stays circled once any report has circled it
  • Deleting a report removes the metadata it contributed, unless the source is set to keep files that disappear from it

Frame.io metadata fields

In Frame.io projects, Oropod also reads Frame.io’s own metadata fields.

Files and folders

Clips themselves appear as soon as a source has synced, even before any metadata has arrived. Until then, you can browse the source’s files and folders directly. Metadata embedded in the media files themselves (e.g. camera metadata) is currently not read.
